Well my first book went live on Kindle on 11/20/11. I am pleasantly surprised at how well it's selling. I am still not sure how pleased I am about it being out for public ridicule. There is so much of myself in those pages.
The inspiration for the book was frustration at my favorite authors. I got tired of the same old themes, mainly that:
1) The lead character is the one with all the superpowers, and
2) The kidnapped girl is always rescued before any damage can occur
Diana's Dreams is my attempt to break these themes. Diana is not a girl, she's a mother, and Diana doesn't have any superpowers or magical abilities. Her husband, Peter is a werewolf, her ex-boyfriend is a Wizard, and even her abductor shows some magical flare! Poor Diana is stuck in the middle of these giants, like Mary Jane to Spider-Man, but unlike Spider-Man, the hero doesn't get there on time. Ouch!
It was fun to write, and fun to read. My next book is in the early stage, and I don't expect it to be out until around April 15, 2012. It's not the next book in this series, although there will be at least one more Whispers book.
