FORSAKEN EBOOK FREE ON 11/9 & 11/12 At first I didn't know about giving my book away for free. Diana's Dreams took me about 3 years to put together, and Forsaken took 8 months. That's a lot of work to give away for free. The amazing thing about it is that every time I have a free promo, my sales shoot up for weeks afterward. Another example where opening your hand and letting a bit of seed fall, can lead to better things. Like the African Proverb: "When you eat, spread your fingers."

Crazy fans : )

The anesthesiologist scheduled for my upcoming surgery bought both my books today. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Am I really going to let someone that's into that creepy sh*t put me under?

What's Better Than a FREE Book? Nothing! (Well, Maybe Chocolate...)

On the recommendation of a fellow book blogger, I am offering "Diana's Dreams" free for three days, starting Friday, August 31 through Sunday, September 2. This gives people who might have missed the first day another chance to pick it up while it's free.

While you're there, "FORSAKEN" is also available at the original price of only $2.99. If you love horror, especially supernatural thrillers, these are the books for you!

Remember, even if you don't own a Kindle, you can still read my books. The Kindle app is available on Amazon's website, also for free, for your PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone. Now you don't have any reason not to pick up my debut novel!

Absentee Author on the Loose

"Author". I'm still getting used to that. Writing was simply a hobby to me, from the time I was a preteen. At that time, my main reading interests was the fantasy genre, and my writing reflected that. Despite hours of penmanship, the stories never seemed to flow properly.

Now that I've discovered my niche -horror- the words come more easily. Writing has become a pleasure instead of a distraction or a chore. Unfortunately, this attitude does not translate to blogging. I don't like talking about myself and it shows. My husband, whom I've tasked with handling the marketing for my books, started a Facebook fan page for me, which I occasionally post to.

So, it's been months since I posted anything on here. Then again, I was writing my second novel FORSAKEN. Like Diana's Dreams, it's a supernatural horror/thriller. Unlike Diana's Dreams, the central character is not the victim, but the perpetrator. The book is about Jesse Hawkins, a young man with a dark past and even darker secret, who moves to a small Kansas town to escape his demons. Once there, his life takes on new meaning when he feels tasked with doing God's work on Earth: freeing good souls from their earthly bodies before they can become corrupted by life.

Meanwhile, as the deaths start to mount, an ancient vampire who calls the town his home awakens from a decades-long slumber. After sating his thirst, he becomes interested in the young serial killer. What to do with a mortal who's bloodlust almost rivals his own? Including an array of supporting characters, and plent of blood, violence and humor, FORSAKEN is my favorite work so far.

Hope you like it, too!

Update time!

So, Diana's Dreams is still rated 5/5 stars on Kindle. Sales are good, and I'm getting a lot of positive feedback. It would be wonderful if more people left reviews on Kindle (preferably 5 stars; no pressure, though). Otherwise, things are looking up.

Visitors to the Diana's Dreams page on Kindle may notice the little (Whispers) tag after the title. I plan on writing at least one more book chronicling the lives of Diana, Peter and Andrew. They aren't done yet. Currently, though, I'm working on a new novel. The title and subject are remaining a secret for the time being; although I will admit it is horror, once again. I love the scary stuff -Stephen King especially- as well as fantasy stories.

The next book should be out sometime in March, provided life stops throwing curveballs at me and leaves me the time I need to write. You hear that, Universe? Brenda is working here, she doesn't have time for your shenanigans.

Lastly, Diana's Dreams will be available for FREE download via Kindle on Friday, January 13. So, make this Friday the 13th my lucky day for a change. Pick up a copy of my book, read it, love it, review it. We both win...
